1. He dedictaed the life to the service of backward classes and took active part in the establishment of student hostels for backward classes throughout the State, has distinguished himself in organising several conferences of backward classes in the State.
2. He was in the Congress Organisation from the begining and participated in the Quit India Movement in 1942 in his younger days, thereafter stayed away from political activity and concentrated on social work by organising association of backword classes.
3. Has been the Secretary of the Mysore State Backward Classes Association right from its inception in 1960.
4. Vice-President of the Mysore Pradesh Arya Idigara Sangha.
5. Published a book on the problems of Backward classes.
6. Organised many conferences for mobilising the backward classes.
7. Has been the President of Karnataka State Legislators (Backward Classes and Minorities) Association.
8. Is associated with a number of educational Institutions and Hostels for poor students, backward communities, Scheduled Caste and Minority Communities.
9. Founder Chairman of Karnataka Medical Relief and Research Centre.
10. Founder Chairman of the Madhugiri Education Society under which a First Grade College is being run.

13. Has been consistently championing the cause of the weaker and neglected sections of society and in particular rural areas of the state.
14. Has served on various Legislature Committees and has contributed many services in bringing out progressive legislative measures in the State.
15. He is the member of the Legislative Council continuously since 1970 and Re-elected to the Legislative Council on 11th June 1976.
