4. Was Chairman, Praja Socialist Party, Karnataka from 1959 to 1971.
5. Was a member of Mysore University Senate and member of the University Syndicate from 1959 to 1970.
6. Was a member of the Legislative Assembly from 1962 to 1971.
7. Participated in the Kisan movement and Anti price rallies in 1964 and courted arrest.
8. Joined Congress in 1971 during the merge of Praja Socialist Party with the Congress.
9. Was the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Karnataka Legislature from 1969 to 1971.
10. Participated in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference held at 'Bahamas' in 1968 as a delegate.
11. Is a member of All-India Congress Committee from 1971.
12. Elected to the Legislative Council in May 1974.
